FIRST REHEARSALS
Sinfonias 3, 2, 1, and Junior Chamber:  Saturday, September 25
This semester we are combining the Eastside and the Northwest programs, meeting at a central location.
The first rehearsal (Saturday, 25 Sep)
Abounding Grace ELC at 2450 S Kolb Rd
Starting on Saturday, 2 October, rehearsals will be held at
FIRST BRETHREN CHURCH – 201 North Columbus.

Chamber 2:  Tuesday, September 28
First Brethren Church, 201 North Columbus Blvd.

Chamber 1:  Monday, September 27
First Brethren Church, 201 North Columbus Blvd.

AUDITIONS
Sinfonias 3, 2, 1:  No audition. Placement is done by phone interview.
Junior Chamber, Chamber 2, Chamber 1:  Auditions are required. All audition times are arranged by telephone.
To schedule phone interview or audition or for questions call 465-1334 (Mr. B) or 465-4690 (Mrs. B).

Pandemic precautions will be taken.

CMIM 2021

This photo, from 1971, is of Tucson Junior Strings Sinfonia I in concert at Christ United Methodist. This was the first concert that Mr. B conducted, and there were only three orchestras at the time: Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced orchestras. The "super group" or Chamber Orchestra was added in the fall semester of 1972.

TUITIONS
$200 FOR Sinfonia 3
$205 for Sinfonia 2
$210 for Sinfonia 1
$225 for Junior Chamber
$235 for Chamber II
$270 for Chamber I
Partial financial assistance is available on a need basis. Payment may be made by credit card (Visa Mastercard, American Express, Pay Pal), check or cash. Tuitions must be paid in full before the final week of the semester or a student may not register for the next semester.  

AUDITIONS
Placement is determined by technical ability and by note-reading ability.

SINFONIA ORCHESTRAS - Phone interview for initial placement. No playing audition is required for new members to the program, however, once a member of TJS, an audition is required to move up.

JUNIOR CHAMBER AND CHAMBER II - You must meet technical requirements to qualify -- all string players should already play with vibrato, 5th position reading ability for violins and violas; thumb position/treble clef for cellists.

CHAMBER I Auditions occur only in late August.

ALL AUDITIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
To participate in Chamber II or Chamber I, you must be in 8th grade or above. Audition to show ability to perform at Chamber Orchestra level IS required.

Besides certain technical requirements, TJS members are required to participate in their school orchestra program.
